Q: Are you a CSA?

A: No, our model is much different. Instead of us telling you what to eat, you choose what you want each week. Your orders stay as varied as your weekly menu. 

Q: Do I have to become a member to order food?  

A: Yes. Becoming a member of Arganica Farm Club gives you access to door to door delivery of our constantly expanding list of farm-fresh and artisanal foods. 

Q: What is an Arganica membership. What do I get?

A:  Arganica recently converted to a new membership system in January 2012. We no longer have upfront membership costs, just simple, low monthly billing of $19.50 a month. Please see our Membership page for more details.

Q: How do I order food?

A:  Ordering food at Arganica is easy. Log in to your account and begin adding your favorite items into your online shopping crate. If you used a promotional code on signup, you will see the items related to that promotion right under your shopping crate. You can add these to your crate just like any other item.

Q:  What is an Arganica Produce Crate? What is typically included?

A: For customers who do not wish to order individual items and prefer the variety of our weekly crate of seasonal produce, we have two offers: the “All Local” and the “Mixed”. The All-Local is larger, costs $40, and consists of a mix of local only no-spray, low-spray, and organic produce. The Mixed costs $30 and includes a mix of locally, nationally, and internationally produced certified organic foods. Both include staples such as lettuce, cooking greens, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, carrots, apples, and pears. They may also include special items such as mushrooms, bell peppers, citrus, Brussels sprouts, squash, wild berries, and locally produced artisanal foods. When our farmers have a last-minute abundance of a particular crop that is not available on our regular menu, we will often add this to our produce crates as well. Q: Where do you deliver?  

A: We currently deliver to the Washington, DC metropolitan area (including Northern VA and Southern MD), Baltimore, Annapolis, Frederick, Westminster, Richmond, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Stafford, Hampton Roads (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Chesapeake), Williamsburg, and Philadelphia (including the New Jersey suburbs and Wilmington, Delaware). We are extending the Arganica network as fast as we can, so please check our site frequently for updates. See our page on Delivery Areas to find out if we deliver to you. 

Q: What are your delivery times?

A: Delivery time depends on where you live. Current delivery days/times are as follows:

Washington DC metro area:

  • Thursday: between 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. 

  • Sunday: between 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

All other locations and cities: 

  • Sunday between 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Please refer to our Delivery Areas for more details. Due to growing demand, we are phasing in Sunday deliveries to more areas. If you're not yet covered by our delivery areas, let us know! The more inquiries we get, the more likely we'll be able to get to your area. 

Q: What are your ordering deadlines?

A: The ordering deadline for  Thursday deliveries is the preceding Monday night at 11:59 pm. All Sunday deliveries must have their order forms in no later than 11:59 (midnight) on the preceding Wednesday.

Q: How do I redeem my promotional membership offer?

A: If you have purchased an Arganica membership via a promotional offer, you need to enter your promotional code when you sign up on the Arganica website. On the main page click on "Join Today." If you already have an active account with us, just login to your profile, go to the 'Promotions' tab, and enter the new promocode. Your promo items will be now be displayed in the list.

Q: How do I redeem promotional offers or gift certificates with my food order?

A: If you have purchased a promotion that includes a special offer for a particular item, (e.g., the Arganica Promo Crate), or a gift certificate which you can use toward the payment of your order, these items will appear below your shopping crate after you log into your account. These can be directly added to your crate at any time. To review how many 'redemptions' you have left, just visit the 'Promotions' tab in your profile.

Q: Can I get my free Arganica Promo Crate and use my gift certificate in the same order?

A: Yes, you can. The Arganica Promo Crate and gift certificates are separate items in our online shopping cart but you can redeem both in the same order. To use your gift certificate you should order food at a total value of at least as much as the value of your gift certificate (we do ask that you redeem your gift certificate in whole amounts accordlingly). No credit will be provided for unused portions of any gift certificate. Please note, if you are redeeming a $25 gift certificate, you still need to order at least the minimum requirement for delivery which is $35 worth of food before your gift certificate can be applied. 

Q: Why do I have to have a credit card on file?  

A:  Credit cards are on file because each delivery requires returnables including, but not limited to: food crates, crate liners, gel packs and glass bottles. Your monthly membership fee is also charged to your credit card on file on the billing date that was set upon sign up. Any food that you purchase will also be charged to your credit card upon delivery.

Q: Do I have to order every week?  

A:  Arganica understands that you may not need to order every week, and we certainly do not want to waste food. You order what you want, when you want. NOTE: Because Arganica currently provides weekly deliveries, you may order only ONCE per week.

Q: Is there a minimum amount I have to order?  

A: Yes, there is a $35.00 minimum. The purchase of alcoholic beverages will not be included as part of your minimum order. However, the purchase of an Arganica Mixed- or All-Local Crate or redemption of a promotional produce crate does satisfy the conditions for a minimum order!

Q: Can I order beer or wine through Arganica? 

A: You can order from our beer and wine selection if you live in Virginia. Arganica does not allow orders or deliveries of alcoholic beverages to members residing in Maryland or Washington D.C, though we hope to soon. Arganica requires that a person of legal drinking age be present to receive delivery. Arganica will not leave alcoholic beverages with an unattended delivery. NOTE: The purchase of alcoholic beverages DOES NOT contribute to your minimum order.

Caution: Frozen items are packaged with dry ice.  Do not allow skin to come into contact with dry ice.
